What similarities do you see between Okonkwo's family structure/relationships and your own family? What specific example is the most different?
I see that Okonkwo's family structure is that the man is on top followed by the wife followed by a male child then the last is the girls. Children are organized by age. Oldest on the top of the ladder and youngest on the bottom. People fear each-other, especially Okonkwo. He rules with a heavy hand and is very strict. When you make a mistake you get in trouble.
A specific example that is different is that Okonkwo got angry and almost shot his wife. "Unfortunately for her, Okonkwo heard it [the wife said that the gun never shot] and ran madly into his room for the loaded gun, ran out again and aimed at her as she clambered over the dwarf wall of the barn." She was not harmed but it is very bad to shoot at one of your wives for no reason other than what she said. We do not get beaten for doing things wrong and we do not live on a farm. We also live in just one house, not multiple. My dad also does not have 3 wives.
